Male Survivors of Sexual Assault Program

Experiencing sexual abuse or assault can have lasting effects on emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. For many men and non-binary individuals, reaching out for support can feel overwhelming. Taking that first step is often one of the most difficult parts of the healing journey, but it can also be one of the most powerful.

At the Counselling Centre of East Algoma, we provide a safe, respectful, and confidential space where male and non-binary survivors of sexual abuse or assault can access compassionate support without judgment. We recognize that survivors come from all walks of life and that every person's experience is unique.

Our Male Survivors of Sexual Assault Program is designed to help individuals process their experiences, build resilience, and move toward healing at their own pace. Whether the abuse occurred recently or many years ago, support is available.

Services include:

  • Individual counselling

  • Group counselling

  • Telephone and virtual counselling

  • Peer support opportunities

  • Referrals to community resources and longer-term supports

Many survivors carry their experiences in silence. You do not have to face this journey alone. Our team is here to listen, support, and walk alongside you as you navigate recovery and healing.

Healing is possible. Hope is possible. Support is here when you are ready.

Questions about the Men’s Counselling Link

Men's Mental Health: Breaking Barriers, Building Strength

Many men face unique challenges when it comes to seeking support for their mental health and well-being. Messages about "being strong," handling problems alone, or keeping emotions hidden can make it difficult to reach out, even during times of stress, anxiety, depression, grief, or personal struggle.

At the Counselling Centre of East Algoma, we understand these barriers and are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive space where men can talk openly, explore challenges, and access the support they deserve.

Mental health struggles are common, and no one should have to face them alone.

You Don't Have to Carry It Alone

Whether you are dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, anger, trauma, or simply feeling overwhelmed, support is available. Taking the first step can be difficult, but it can also be the beginning of positive change.

You deserve support. You deserve to be heard. And you do not have to face life's challenges alone.
