Service

After contacting us and completing an initial questionnaire, you will meet an appropriate counsellor for an assessment appointment. This allows the centre to understand your needs and expectations more clearly and to consider if counselling is really the best option for you. It also allows an option for you to ask any questions of the centre, this may be in relation to confidentiality, regularity and timing of sessions, or considering the commitment and trust involved within a therapeutic relationship.

Following this meeting you may decide to follow an alternative route or consider a different type of counselling. Assuming that we are both happy to proceed we may be able to recommend either:

  • Short term counselling (up to 8 weeks)

        or

  • One to one ongoing counselling

There is a standard charge for this appointment.

As members of the BACP all of our counsellors adhere to their ethical framework.  A copy can be downloaded from http//www.bacp.co.uk/ethicalframework/.

Our counsellors are here to work alongside you and you are free to talk about anything you wish in confidence. Everything you discuss will be treated in confidence by BCC and we will not disclose your information to anyone outside BCC without your written permission, except under extreme circumstances connected with the Law such as Child Protection.
